Application Design & Development

For a federal agency, Agiliko manages the enterprise application portfolio, where we introduced DevSecOps in support of 25+ applications, 100+ components, and 1000+ SharePoint sites, reducing deployment time by 85%. Additionally, Agiliko implemented automated testing for the application portfolio, multi-factor authentication (MFA) for its public-facing applications and is preparing the applications for migration to the cloud. Our team works closely with the IT team to successfully deploy and maintain systems and to roll out new capabilities, such as Microsoft 365 (M365) to include the Microsoft Power Platform.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Agiliko developed and deployed two new applications, for collecting data and assessing risk providing key insights to a federal agency and external users with data and analytic information that improve their understanding of the financial risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding the urgent needs of our client, we developed and deployed the application in 45 days, earning recognition by an agency executive who stated, “This is the best application deployment I’ve witnessed in my 25-year experience with the agency.”

Web & Content Management Solutions

For a US Federal client, Agiliko overhauled a 30,000+ page site and implemented the redesigned site by programming a dozen page templates and layouts, specialized microsites, searchable databases, Twitter/X widgets, interactive organizational charts and photo/video galleries, an agency calendar, interactive timelines and maps, interactive infographics, web-based learning tools, and dozens of custom pages and graphics. This site earned a distinction from Good Housekeeping and listed as a “top-notch” site.

Since 2012, Agiliko has provided full-service support for two websites collectively containing more than 50,000 pages by providing daily and recurring web postings, maintenance (e.g. broken links scans), email marketing, language translation, testing, design, development, site analytics, Section 508 compliance, SEO support, research projects, surveys, Usability studies, YouTube postings, mobile assessments, project dashboards, training materials, logo designs, and user guides.

Mobile Apps

For a US Federal client, Agiliko designed, developed, and launched a kid-friendly app designed to help teach the concepts of earning, saving, and spending money, while incorporating basic mathematical concepts as a function of the overall experience. The app supports augmented reality, a 3D experience, as well as varying levels of gameplay. The framework of the app was designed with manageability and future scalability in mind. We developed a web version of the game to provide a similar experience for users without access to mobile devices. Agiliko and the client worked closely to ensure that all wireframes, storyboards, and curricula were met throughout the design and development phases. The app was released to Google Play and the App Store in 2015 and has continued to provide regular user analytics to the client.

Agiliko has been modernizing and enhancing the Digital Government and Knowledge Management capabilities for a federal financial agency with web development, knowledge management and B2G solutions.

Data Strategy

An Agiliko client recently embarked on a modernization program for critical business processes. Agiliko led a discovery phase with subject matter experts, assessed the current state of data management practices, documented business data flows, captured information requirements about the key business process, and identified gaps in data management capabilities. Working collaboratively with the client, we developed a custom data strategy roadmap and data governance framework that will effectively enable their ongoing modernization program. The data strategy will enable “one version of the truth” in data analysis, seamless integration of its legacy data with new systems, and mine its deep reservoir of data to achieve its primary missions. Agiliko uniquely brings business experience, data expertise, and technology insights to develop a compelling data strategy with a practical and achievable roadmap.

Data Governance

Agiliko assisted a large financial institution in maturing its data practices by establishing an enterprise data governance program and data management framework based on CMMI Institute’s Data Management Maturity model. A key initiative was created by a data governance board consisting of business leaders from across the major business lines. The thoughtfully planned data governance board was sponsored by senior management and chartered to address data management risks. Agiliko collaborated and supported the board through the formation stages and successfully into full operation by instituting custom data education, practices, frameworks, and policies. This foundational data body enabled the client to bring all business needs into a trusted partnership to drive priority data initiatives. With our experience, Agiliko can establish an effective data governance program customized to your agency’s unique environment and culture.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

One of the keys to successful business intelligence is strong integration with the business teams to ensure value is delivered to users. With one Federal client, Agiliko worked closely with analysts and field specialists to build dashboards and reports which enabled early identification and resolution of key data issues. Behind the scenes, expert data modeling and automated data transformations delivered high-quality information in high-performance conditions. These business intelligence tools vastly improved data quality and analytical capabilities to allow them to monitor key metrics and risk factors of supervised entities more effectively. Because field specialists have access to the data in advance of onsite meetings their time can be better focused on key deficiencies and weaknesses. Agiliko’s business intelligence solution has helped this client realize operational benefits that allow them to perform higher-quality supervision at a lower cost to the Federal government.

IT Performance Management

For a federal agency, Agiliko led a review of current IT support desk practices, revamped them to better serve end-users, and ultimately deployed new service tracking tools aligned with the new processes including the creation of a clear IT support desk vision and a detailed, realistic project plan to fulfill that vision. The initial phases addressed the challenges with data, grouping, and the back-end assignment and tracking of tickets; the final phase provided a new interface for end-users when interacting with the service desk.

Business Process Transformation

Agiliko assisted a US Federal client in launching a significant, multi-year enterprise-level business transformation program supporting both the business lines and IT. Foundational deliverables included building the business case for the enterprise transformation and supporting the process to secure funding. Also, Agiliko assisted in establishing governance structures, developing business requirements, creating the acquisition strategy & package, and ongoing monitoring of program performance. This enterprise transformation will continue for many years, but Agiliko was able to support the successful launch and the formation of critical foundational elements.

Capital Planning & Investment Control

Agiliko has proven experience with Capital Planning and Program Development in large public sector organizations. We currently support one of the largest US Mass Transit Authority's (MTA) capital planning and portfolio development and implementation using portfolio management tools. In this capacity Agiliko developed a capital planning governance model, migrated the MTA’s Capital Planning process from managing hundreds of spreadsheets to a comprehensive, modern capital planning technology platform, developed and supported rapid program maturation of Capital Planning, Execution and Reporting for a multi-billion-dollar annual investment, launched an internal business intelligence (BI) interactive dashboard to support communication and discovery of a multi-year Capital Investment Program and produced Data Warehousing, Data Mining, and BI reports to quickly access metrics and provide transparency to the MTA’s stakeholders.

Enterprise Architecture & IT Technology Roadmap

For a US Federal client, Agiliko developed a Business IT Vision, Strategy and Roadmap and established a repeatable process for continuous updating of the IT roadmap. We created and executed the processes by which the enterprise architecture and IT Roadmap are developed and maintained. This entailed working with each business-line division to understand their technology needs and to identify IT capabilities that fulfill those needs. Through this effort, we developed an understanding of the client’s overall business and IT needs and conducted an organization-wide prioritization of these needs. Combining the enterprise’s prioritized IT needs with available resources and other constraints Agiliko developed the 5-year IT roadmap.

Cloud Design & Deployment

To support a Mass Transit Authority (MTA) Capital Planning organization, Agiliko deployed Capital Asset Planning Suite (CAPS); a Software as a Service (SaaS) serverless web application built in Microsoft Azure; deployed as an enterprise application; Azure Active Directory integration with optional MFA; and Azure Cloud Security Benchmark Compliant (100% Secure Score).

For a Federal agency, Agiliko created a cloud strategy to support and include cloud readiness planning and guidance on optimal cloud models, providers, and architecture. Additionally, we developed an enterprise cloud roadmap to achieve the agency’s goal of optimizing their cloud investments and accelerating their cloud-based digital transformation. The implementation plan included the agency’s migration of its collaboration and content management platform (MS Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint), and Microsoft Teams VoIP solution. We have implemented Kubernetes container orchestration tools to enable applications to leverage cloud services and scale dynamically based on user demand, and developed data architecture cloud services for storing, processing, and accessing information including API integration to leverage microservices to improve application development and performance and reduce costs.

For the next phase, we are developing the agency’s cloud migration plan of its data warehouse, and applications to the cloud and action roadmaps that ensure migration priorities are aligned with business requirements. Applications identified include existing candidate services, systems, and applications. We migrated the agency’s on-premises internal collaboration tools to M365 over a 24-month period. This effort included migrating 1,000 sites and 40 applications along with email and shared drives to improve performance and security while decreasing operational costs. We secured the agency’s cloud systems by providing cybersecurity configuration, implementation, auditing, logging, documentation, and compliance verification. We developed cloud security control standards, operational practices and policies for MS Intune, Azure AD, mobile MDM & MAM, MS Endpoint Configuration Manager, and VPNs. We also implemented encryption in-transit across the application portfolio and at-rest for data storage, and engineered security controls and policies in the MS Teams VoIP platform. Lastly, we established and currently maintain the agency’s cloud-based data analytic solution implementing an enterprise Microsoft Power BI capability.

Cloud Operations and Maintenance (O&M)

For a federal agency, Agiliko migrated the agency’s two public websites from an on prem to an AWS/Drupal platform. As a part the agency’s first cloud migration project, Agiliko architected the AWS/Drupal environment along with a secure tunnel to the agency’s network to enable agency personnel and our contract team to securely manage the site consistent with the system’s Authority to Operate (ATO), which Agiliko wrote. Since its deployment in 2018, Agiliko has managed the environment to a 99.9% uptime.

Assessment and Authorization (A&A)

For a financial institution, Agiliko manages information security in the software development and production environments including performing static testing for code compliance with security standards, vulnerability scans, security exercises, assessments, and audits, penetration testing and performing systems Assessment and Authorization (A&A) testing for new solutions.

Data Quality Programs

For a federal agency, we deployed automated Artificial Intelligence (AI) data cleansing capabilities to proactively identify quality issues before they impact user availability and increase seamless data solution operations. Through this initiative we were able to reduce the quarterly review of loan data from 80 hours to 8 minutes, saving significant time and increasing quality.
